ALERT: Opportunity to Support Goodeid Conservation

Plan G Mexico is a project to restore extinct in the wild Mexican splitfins (goodeids) back to their natural habitat. Two species, Skiffia francesae and Zoogoneticus tequila, were once extinct in the wild but are again swimming in their habitat because of this project. Plan G is led by researchers and conservationists from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo and the Aqualab Fish Ark in coordination with support from the aquarium hobbyist and zoological communities. Aquarium hobbyists maintained the original founder stock of Mexican splitfins that are being used for reintroduction. Recently, the vehicles used to conduct projects and research have aged to the point that they are no longer usable. Plan G is again asking the aquarium hobby for support to “Drive Goodeids Forward.” You can support the project here.
